Just 4 miles to the cobbled streets of Alston heritage town, you'll find country pubs, restaurants, an Artisan Bakery and an array of independent shops. Cosying up with you pup? Bundling up for a night of stargazing? Or, simply recharging your batteries (and your cars) after a day of adventures? Then Maple Cottage is your home away from home.

A detached stone cottage in the heart of the north Pennines. Stunning views. With fantastic footpaths, cycle routes straight from the door for those with plenty of energy as it is hilly. Great base for exploring the area. With pubs and coop 5 minute drive or 25 minute walk. Recently renovated to a high standard but still feels characterful and cosy. Underfloor heating, induction hob and super insulated. 2 well behaved dogs only are allowed for a small fee. Sorry no other pets allowed.

We are a 5 minute drive to Alston (petrol, gift shops, pubs, pub food, home made gifts, spa/co-op, mini railway, bike hire, C2C, fishing, cycling). The Lake District, the Borders and the North East are just a drive away. The new build apartment sleeps 4 in 2 upstairs bedrooms (microwave, washer dryer, dishwasher, tv, DVD, wifi, parking, bike store). There’s a stunning view from every window including the shower room, there is no bath. We’re very rural the WiFi can be somewhat unreliable.

The Shipping Container, Springwell

An ‘Amazing Spaces’ inspired shipping container conversion, set in a peaceful secluded wildlife friendly garden, at the foot of the Pennine hills. The container is a 5 minute walk from the picturesque Talkin village which has a friendly pub serving food. A woodburning stove (logs supplied) ensures the container stays cosy in all weathers. It makes an excellent base to explore Hadrian's Wall, the North Lakes and the Eden Valley.. or a perfect stop off point on your way to or from Scotland.

Nenthead accommodation ideal for exploring

In the heart of the North of England you will find our accommodation set within an area of outstanding natural beauty. The rooms we offer have been designed with the explorer in mind, to use a base to explore the local surrounding area, the Lake District, Northumberland and Durham. We have had guests walking the Isaacs Tea Trail as well as cyclists doing the C2C. After a long day exploring the local area return to refresh yourself in our spacious bathroom complete with underfloor heating.

The Hideaway, in the centre of historic Alston

Ground floor apartment tucked away behind the town centre. Part of a converted 17th century listed building, the apartment is quiet and peaceful yet has immediate access to all the amenities of the town centre and road links. The apartment sleeps 2 adults and can accommodate an infant. The apartment is double glazed and benefits from gas central heating. Unlimited fibre wifi is provided together with Freesat TV. Access is pedestrian only but there is free parking just a few yards away.

The Nook Holiday Cottage - Alston AONB

The Nook is a beautiful 17th Century detached stone cottage, refurbished to modern standards whilst retaining period charm. Located in the countryside, a short walk away from Alston's town centre which includes a pub, cafe and some shops. Perfect for a relaxing break in an area of outstanding natural beauty, lots of scenic walks from the doorstep. Private garden with a hot tub, a perfect way to view the stars on a clear night. Cosy up in front of the log burner in the spacious lounge.

This contemporary luxury cottage sits in 10 acres of private gardens, woodlands, lake and tennis court. With views to the gardens, the lake and the Pennine fells this peaceful retreat is perfect for relaxing, wildlife watching, star gazing and walking. The local Inn serves great food and historic Penrith with restaurants and shopping is a short drive away. A truly special location with the Lake District nearby. True countryside living with a touch of comfort. Wind your way into the hills along narrow lanes and eventually come to The Hideaway. Sat on the original stone floor of a former cow byre, our cosy Shepherd’s Hut is surrounded by idyllic countryside and the magical North Pennines AONB. The views are stunning, the peace unbroken and the night skies incredible. It is the perfect base for a few relaxing days in the countryside or to explore the superb hiking and biking routes.

Rose Lea is a fully renovated 18th Century Cottage. The cottage is an idyllic escape nestled in the Eden Valley, the perfect base for exploring the Lake District or the Pennines. Temple Sowerby is a peaceful little village with sandstone buildings clustered around a beautiful village green, ringed by tall trees. Old Sunday School - pet friendy, hot tub hideaway

This cosy property has it's own private spa. Newly built for 2024, the spa area forms the entrance to the property featuring 2 seat hot tub, rainwater shower and feature original stone wall with lantern roof window. This beautiful hideaway is completely hidden from view, overlooking rolling velvet farmland of the North Pennines area of outstanding natural beauty and has been refurbished to an extremely high standard with attention to design and detail.

The Rookery

After much research, I think this cottage was likely built somewhere in the 1500's. It has quirky uneven walls, VERY LOW BEAMS (TAKE CARE) upstairs made from sailing ships that travelled the world. There's no kitchen, but is a dining room with small fridge, microwave, air fryer, sink, kettle, crockery, cutlery and tea making things. *DOGS* Please keep dogs off the bed and furniture as the dog hairs just spread over everything in the washing machine.
